"Welcome to Arts Trail, a site set up to celebrate and promote contemporary art in Leamington Spa and the surrounding area. Our mission - to provide creative opportunities for artists specialising in paint, print, photography, and sculpture to showcase and sell their work.
Our formula is quite simple, to run a series of lively outdoor art fairs in a relaxed and unstuffy environment with lots of good quality contemporary art. The price ceiling is £500 and the compulsory labelling of all artwork ensures you know what you can and can’t afford. The diverse range of work on offer means there is something to suit every taste.
The Fairs will take place at the bottom end of Livery Street and in front of the Town Hall and will run in conjunction with existing events to maximise publicity and footfall. The message is ‘Love Art’ on Saturday August 27th, (also Farmers Market) Saturday 10th, Sunday 11th (also Food & Drink Festival) and Saturday 24th (Farmers Market).
From 10am – 5pm you can drop by to view the art on display, delight in live art demonstrations, enjoy a little light music, sample some local foody delights and....buy an original piece of art work –to enjoy forever".

Bishop Kenney came to bless the prayer garden at Our Lady's & St. Teresa's school, Cubbington, Warwickshire on 28 June 2011. It was a joyous occasion and if you follow the link it will take you to photos of the journey from start to finish (so far) as we still eagerly await wall paintings depicting the life of St. Teresa from Trinity School.

It is a project very close to my heart and to date by far the most exciting and absorbing one!

I have finally finished all the artwork which includes 5 wall paintings on wood:-

1. Bird of Peace
2. Cross - set against a vibrant sky
3. Essence of a Rose
4. Fish - Christian symbol on sea
5. Plaque of Our Lady's & St. Teresa's School surrounded by handprints of Reception children
6. Mosaic wall plaque to sit at the front of the grotto housing a statue of Our Lady
7. Invocation prayer to St. Teresa in mixed media on perspex.

The Bishop of Coventry will come to bless the prayer garden at 1.30pm on Tuesday 28 March 2011. All welcome.

Finishing touches are being carried out with planting etc. to ensure that the garden will be a beautiful place for the children to sit and reflect in. It has been a wonderful journey so far and we can't wait to see it all completed in its glory for the 28th. Photos will be posted of the event!

Our school was featured in the Courier on 13 May 2011 with a photo showing us help to bury a time capsule in the new prayer garden.

Next month the Bishop of Coventry will come to bless the garden.

Royal Photographer for school "non wedding" day

Amidst the Royal Wedding frenzy our school, Our Lady's & St. Teresa's, undertook a "non wedding" celebration that included a very cute bride and groom from Reception class all dressed up in wedding regalia.

I was thrilled to be "Royal Photographer" for the day. A chauffeur driven car took them to the church and a "non wedding" service took place with Father Lawrence talking about the sanctity of marriage.

This all took place last Thursday as the whole school and staff dressed to the nines to celebrate the Royal wedding in their own unique way. There was a Royal Banquet to follow with a disco. A lovely wedding cake was cut and shared out too. The "Royal couple" did an opening dance before the hall became a sea of happy faces enjoying the day. Needless to say the whole school and staff worked hard to ensure it was a day to remember!

Well done everyone for their hard work and preparation and parents for turning out their children in smart or patriotic clothes. The place was filled with photos of Kate and William and balloons, flags and flowers festooned the hall.

A special thanks to Mrs Fallon who thought up the wonderful idea. The celebration was followed by the local press and featured on Central News. To see the footage click on the following link:-

Leamington Courier feature Mother and Daughter Art Exhibition

The Leamington Courier featured Mum and I on 1 April 2011 in the Art section.

"Mother and daughter Olga Rudenko and Sonia Bublaitis have launched a new exhibition at Joel's Gallery in Warwick. This exhibition brings together Renaissance-inspired works with bold abstracts forming an explosion of colour, movement and light.

Olga was born in Turin in Italy into a family who loved the arts and she naturally loved drawing and painting from an early age. After meeting a young man during the war she folowed her heart and came to England, leaving a growing singing career behind. She still enjoys working with different mediums including pastels, oils, acrylics and watercolours as she likes the variety of textures and colours that can be created.

Sonia was born in Stratford and now lives in Leamington Spa. She studied Fine Art at Warwickshire College and has been greatly inspired by the works of Jackson Pollock. Her abstract art has a contemplative quality which has been created to engage the viewer spiritually, emotionally and intellectually. Her use of modern materials such as glass and perspex gives her works a futurist look.

I am absolutely delighted to say that my mother and myself are 2 out of 8 artists who have been contracted to Goldstraws, 'Joel's Gallery', Warwick.

We will be holding a joint retrospective exhibition from March 10 - 6 April 2011.

Mosaic Plaque

This mosaic will be placed against the front of the wall housing the statue of St. Teresa in the prayer garden at Our Lady's and St. Teresa's school. It is made up of mirrored perspex, coloured perspex and ceramic tiles.
